The 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party started its sixth plenary session in Beijing on Monday.

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the committee's Political Bureau, Xinhua News Agency reported.

It said Xi also made explanations on a draft resolution on the major achievements and historical experience of the Communist Party's 100 years of endeavours.

The plenum is scheduled to last until November 11.
