A hotel worker in Shenzhen has tested positive for Covid-19.

She was among 55 new locally transmitted infections confirmed by mainland authorities on Tuesday, down from 127 a day earlier.

Authorities in Shenzhen said the patient is a cleaner in a hotel where aircrew working in international flights reside.

The woman has been sent to a designated hospital for treatment.

This was one of seven new local infections in Guangdong. The other six were reported in Zhuhai.

According to the National Health Commission, there were also 33 new local infections in Henan, 14 in Tianjin and one in Beijing.

Along with 32 new imported cases, the day's tally stood at 87. (Additional reporting by Xinhua)
