Police said they're investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long on Thursday afternoon in which a 48-year-old woman died.

They said that at about 1.41pm, a private car driven by the 48-year-old woman was travelling along Yuen Long Highway towards Tuen Mun. The vehicle reportedly collided with a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 44-year-old man.

Both drivers subsequently left their vehicles, and the private car driver was reportedly hit by a public light bus driven by a 63-year-old man.

She was taken to Tin Shui Wai Hospital and was certified dead at 2.46pm.

Police said the public light bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death, and the LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving and misleading police officers.
