Police said on Friday that they have arrested and charged a woman in connection with the death of a two-week-old baby girl.

The force said the baby girl was found lying under a footbridge in Sham Tseng in the early morning hours, and was pronounced dead later in hospital.

An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Police said later on Friday they laid a holding charge of infanticide against the suspect, 41.
