Police said a 33-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after she allegedly snatched an officer's gun just outside the Lantau North police station.

A spokesman said in a brief statement that the officer had been busy handling a case when the the suspect suddenly grabbed his gun while walking by.

"The officer immediately subdued and arrested her," he said, adding that no one was hurt in the incident.

CCTV footage circulating on the internet — purportedly of the incident — shows a woman taking the revolver out of an officer's holster.

Detectives from the Lantau district crime squad were investigating the case.
