West Kowloon Court on Thursday denied bail to June 4 vigil organiser Chow Hung-tung, who is charged with inciting subversion of state power.
Chow, the vice-chairwoman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, is charged together with the alliance’s leaders, Lee Cheuk-yan and Albert Ho.
She is also accused of breaching the Implementation Rules of Article 43 of the national security law, by failing to comply with a police request to provide information relating to the alliance.
Representing herself in court, Chow requested the court to release her on bail and to lift restrictions against media reporting of the bail hearing.
After hearing her arguments, principal magistrate Peter Law rejected both requests.
The alliance was formed 32 years ago and has recently voted to disband.
