Authorities on Wednesday said two more imported cases of coronavirus have been reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 1,179.

The Centre for Health Protection said the latest cases comprise one male and one female aged 55 and 47 respectively.

The female reported a a cough and runny nose, while the male had a fever.

Both arrived in Hong Kong from the Philippines on Tuesday, and were transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Hospital Authority said that as of noon on Wednesday, a total of 86 Covid-19 patients are currently in hospital, of which one is in a critical condition.
