  • Two held over attack on 'yellow circle' eatery chef

Police have arrested two men in connection with an attack on a chef who works at a pro-democracy restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui, with officers saying the assault was probably related to a dispute arising from their work.

The suspects, aged 24 and 27, allegedly used glass bottles and other hard objects to attack the 42-year-old chef early on Monday morning, right outside Lung Mun Café’s branch on Cameron Road.

Officers said both of the suspects knew the victim, and one of them had worked at the restaurant until last week.

The cafe had been known for openly supporting pro-democracy protesters, but its owner made a high-profile announcement last week saying it had quit the “yellow economic circle” in light of the national security law.
