Civic Party lawmaker Tanya Chan left hospital on Tuesday, a week after going in to have a tumour removed from her brain.
Chan had revealed that she had a 4.2-centimetre growth pressing on her brain stem just hours before she was due to be sentenced last month, along with eight others, over the 2014 Occupy protests. The announcement prompted the judge to postpone sentencing Chan.
"Thank you to all the staff at St. Teresa's Hospital for their attentive and thoughtful care, and for making me feel at ease throughout my recovery," a post on Chan's Facebook page says.
She also thanks her mother, friends and other well-wishers for their support.
Chan had said that she was told she had the ping pong ball-sized tumour just days before the court sentencing on April 24 when fellow legislator Shiu Ka-chun, Occupy co-founders Benny Tai and Chan Kin-man, and activist Raphael Wong were jailed for between eight and 16 months.
Four others were also convicted on public nuisance-related charges but were spared custodial sentences.
Chan is due to hear her fate on June 10.
