  • Suspicious fire at Junius Ho's Tsuen Wan office

A suspicious fire broke out at the Tsuen Wan office of pro-Beijing lawmaker Junius Ho on Saturday night with an online video apparently showing three people fleeing the scene.

The outspoken lawmaker has been highly critical of the ongoing extradition bill protests.

Firefighters were called to the office at Tsuen Fung Centre after 9pm to put out the blaze, which they found to be suspicious.

Police said they got a call from a security guard that somebody threw a bottle into the office, and it caught fire. A signboard at the office was burnt.

There were also some some egg shells on the floor.

Back in July, the same office was damaged after a group dressed in white attacked passengers at the Yuen Long MTR station on July 21.

The same day a video emerged showing Ho shaking hands with some men wearing white. But the lawmaker said he was just shaking hands and speaking to people in his constituency.

Ho has been planning a "clean Hong Kong' campaign from next Saturday against the ongoing protests, saying people should be "mobilised across 18 districts to clean up garbage that affects the cityscape".

In a social media post, he called on supporters to "tear down rubbish" and clean up walls, without specifically referring to the so-called Lennon Walls that bear pro-democracy posters and post-it notes which have been put up in different districts.

On Saturday, some groups in Fortress Hill and Tseung Kwan O tore down such "walls" and it led to scuffles.
