Police are investigating a suspected arson attack in Tsing Yi early on Wednesday morning after a protest "Lennon Wall" in the district went up in flames.
An explosion was reported around the time of the fire on a passageway near Tsing Yi MTR Station.
The police said they received reports of the fire at around 3am, while firefighters were also called to the scene to put out the blaze.
A big glass canopy was damaged and photos showed much of the pedestrian bridge was covered in burn marks, while part of the ceiling looked like it was about to collapse.
The Fire Services Department said the fire was suspicious and it had handed the case over to the police for investigation.
