The man charged over the knife attack at a Lennon Wall in Tseung Kwan O has been denied bail as prosecutors asked for more time for further investigations.
Prosecution told Kwun Tong Magistracy on Thursday that Tony Hung, 50, did not know the three victims.
The man, who gave his occupation as a tour guide, was arrested when he returned from the mainland at the Lo Wu checkpoint.
Hung faces three counts of wounding, and no plea was entered. The case was adjourned to October 17 for police to conduct further investigations, including an identification parade, as well as DNA and fingerprint tests on two knives seized near the crime scene.
The court was told that two victims are still in hospital. One woman had injuries to her back, while another woman’s left arm and legs were hurt. A third victim had injuries to his head and left ear.
Earlier, the family of one of the women said her condition has been upgraded to serious from critical overnight.
