  • Stinking liquid draws police back into Legco

Police were back in Legco on Friday to investigate a new report of a "foul-smelling liquid" in the building.

DAB chairwoman Starry Lee said the House Committee meeting had been moved to a new venue after the discovery of the liquid in Conference Room 1.

Several police officers later entered the conference room and found an item wrapped in a plastic bag under a lawmaker’s seat.

They didn't open the bag at the scene, and it was seized as evidence.

This came a day after two meetings on the new national anthem law were disrupted by pan-democratic lawmakers splashing liquid around.

Five pro-establishment legislators later went to the police to report Chu Hoi-dick, Ray Chan and Ted Hui for allegedly hindering Legco business and violating the Powers and Privileges Ordinance.

The pro-democracy camp boycotted Friday's House Committee, as they had also done last week, saying Lee was not properly elected as chairwoman.

Placards opposing Hong Kong's future national security law were placed in front of the pan-dems' empty seats, until Lee told security guards to take them away.
