  • Social workers hold silent march over crisis

Labour Party lawmaker Fernando Cheung

Hundreds of social workers on Sunday marched in silence to government headquarters to protest the administration's handling of the crisis surrounding their failed attempts to amend the extradition laws.

Marching from Southorn Playground in Wanchai, they said the Carrie Lam administration is treating the sector as a piece in her chess game, and expects the sector to help soothe public discontent.

But Labour Party lawmaker Fernando Cheung said the real solution is for the government to stop passing the buck and respond to the five demands of the anti-extradition protesters.
