The SAR government has donated HK$1.1 million to charities to help those affected by flooding in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The money has been given to Oxfam and the Amity Foundation and it will help around 12,000 people with rice, oil and instant noodles.

The government says the money was approved by a committee on disaster relief.

The two charities are required to submit audits on the relief projects.
