During Chinese New Year, Sands China, Alipay, and Macau Pass expanded their partnership to support Macao’s tourism sector and local merchants through digital solutions.

They launched the ‘Tap for Luck, Tap for Golden Surprises’ campaign. Built on Alipay Tap! technology, it combines tap-to-check-in and other features to streamline tourist spending.

Sands China implemented Alipay Tap! across its resorts. Guests can now tap to pay in retail, dining, beauty, fashion, and souvenir outlets.

Handheld devices allow staff to process payments anywhere in-store. This improves service efficiency and enhances the customer experience.

“By integrating the tourism and leisure industry with digital payment platforms, this partnership creates a smarter and more convenient consumption and payment experience for guests. It also opens new digital business and marketing opportunities and supports the development of Macao as a smart city and the growth of its tourism industry.”

“We extend Alipay Tap! from payments into membership engagement, interactive experiences, and handheld checkout. We aim to improve the convenience of payments and consumption and foster deeper integration across the Greater Bay Area’s digital ecosystem.”

Launched over a year ago, Alipay Tap! has grown from a payment tool into a broader digital ecosystem. It integrates cashiering, membership, user operations, and offline events.

The service simplifies checkout, reduces costs, and improves engagement for both merchants and visitors.
