People have been streaming into Victoria Park for an anti-extradition rally scheduled to finish at 5 o'clock.

Police have rejected the organiser's original plan to march to North Point, although many protesters have ignored such bans in the past.

By 2 o'clock several thousand people had turned up, many huddled under umbrellas to protect themselves from the sun.

The organiser has posted 60 marshals at the football pitch area to maintain orders, but says it has no control over what happens outside the park.

Meanwhile protesters are continuing a sit-in protest at the airport. In the arrival hall, a so-called Lennon Wall has been set up to let people to express their feelings by posting notes.

Some protesters also wrote their demands on placards in different languages to explain their actions to foreign visitors. The three-day sit-in protest started on Friday.
