The Director of Water Supplies Wong Chung Leung
Although the amount of rainfall in Hong Kong decreased in the first five months of this year, the Director of Water Supplies Wong Chung Leung has said he is confident that the rainfall in the coming months and water from Dongjiang can provide the SAR with enough water.
He said that 70 per cent of our rainfall usually comes between June and December, and Hong Kong can order more Dongjiang water as long as it is under the prescribed amount.
Responding to public concerns over the low water level in the Lower Shing Mun Reservoir, he explained that it is lowered artificially to accommodate the rainfall expected over the coming months.
