Citizens' Press Conference spokesman

A group of anti-extradition protesters from the Citizens’ Press Conference has called on the government to either regroup or disband the police, saying many people have lost confidence in the force.

"Justice delayed is justice denied," an unnamed spokesman for the group said.

"Late justice is something that Hongkongers have firmly refused to accept therefore the Citizens' Press Conference hereby insists that the government immediately respond to the people's call for the reorganisation of the Hong Kong police force.'

The group said an online survey it conducted this month had found that 78 percent of some 138,000 respondents agreed that protesters should now demand its reorganisation, as the government had rejected calls for an independent inquiry into alleged police misconduct.
