A group of pro-Beijing supporters held a demonstration on the Lion Rock on Saturday morning, calling for an end to violence and restore order in Hong Kong.
This comes a day after thousands of anti-extradition bill protesters went up the iconic hill on Friday night and shone torches, lanterns and laser pens to light up the hillsides to use the lantern festival to highlight their demands.
In a rival display, a large group of people waving national flags went up the hill, chanting slogans opposing the ongoing protests. Once they reached the top, they also unfurled a red banner that called for restoration of order.
Even as red flags and banner dotted the Lion Rock, right next to it was a huge black banner that said "Implement dual universal suffrage" that was placed by the protesters overnight.
