Police said they are investigating an attempted murder case in Tin Shui Wai earlier this month and have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly trying to poison his mother.

They said they received a report on Friday that the man had put what they believed to be poison into soup for his 60-year-old mother to drink at the Tin Yat Estate.

The alleged incident occurred on May 16, and police arrested the man on Saturday.
