RTHK and the police are ending their partnership producing the long-running "Police Report" weekly programme, with the last episode airing in mid-August.

The five-minute programme, which has run for 47 years, tells the public about recent crime trends and gives crime prevention advice.

The police said they've reviewed their publicity strategies in light of the extensive use of social media in recent years, and changes in the way the public receives information.

The police said they would continue to release information through different channels.

RTHK said it would be hard to continue making the programme without the police, and both sides had agreed to end the show.
