Police on Monday dismissed a report that two men had impersonated police officers in Chai Wan last week.

Eastern District councillor Lancelot Chan earlier said on social media that two men who claimed to be officers didn't show their warrant cards when trying to enter a building.

Chan said a security guard turned the pair away.

However, the police said two plain-clothes officers had shown their cards to the guard, and had no problem entering the building to investigate a criminal case.
