Police Officer Arrested Over Signature Forgery Case

A police officer from the Kwai Tsing district crime squad has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
RTHK understands that the 22-year-old officer is suspected of forging a signature from a shop supervisor to say they wouldn't pursue a theft case.
He's been suspended from duty after his release on police bail.
The signature forgery came to light when a senior officer is contacted the shop in Tsing Yi to check on the case status.
The department is now trying to find out why this forgery occurred.
The suspect in the theft case, of goods worth around HK$2,000, is a 51-year-old woman and it is believed she has a history of mental illness.
