Police arrested one of their own on Friday over an online video appearing to show a man physically and verbally abusing a young boy.
The man arrested was believed to be a senior officer based at the Central police district headquarters.
Police said the 41-year-old officer was arrested on suspicion of "ill-treatment or neglect by those in charge of a child or young person", and that he has been suspended.
He was released on bail, and must report back to the police station next month.
The force said it attached a lot of importance to the conduct of personnel, and the officer will be disciplined if he is confirmed to have breached regulations.
The video in question was reportedly filmed in January and went viral on Thursday. It appeared to show a man kicking a boy, throwing slippers at him, and verbally abusing him.
