Police and firefighters were called into the Legislative Council chamber on Thursday lunchtime after a foul-smelling liquid was splashed inside during a June 4 protest by pro-democracy lawmakers.
Acting chairwoman Starry Lee adjourned a meeting on the National Anthem Bill shortly before 1pm, after throwing Chu Hoi-dick and Ray Chan out of the chamber for their antics.
Several police and firefighters went into the Legco chamber following the incident to investigate.
Chu later said that the liquid was biofertiliser and the stunt was to coincide with the anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre.
"A murderer stinks forever. What we did today was to remind the world that we should never forgive the Chinese Communist Party for killing its own people 31 years ago," he said.
He noted that there's been no apology for the killings and no investigation into what happened.
Lawmakers from the pro-establishment camp condemned Chu and Chan's action, with Elizabeth Quat from the DAB saying it was both irresponsible and disgusting.
Legislators were expected to pass the National Anthem Bill on Thursday, making it a criminal offence for people to "insult" the March of the Volunteers.
