Police have charged a 36-year-old bus driver with dangerous driving. He was arrested on Sunday on Nathan Road, where there had been an anti-government protest on what would have been Legco election day.

The man will appear at Kowloon City Court on Tuesday.

The police had arrested the man on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession an offensive weapon. Officers also said they found a spanner in his bag after he was taken to a police station. He had been behind the wheel of a number 970 bus.

The driver was freed on bail on Monday.
