Police on Monday launched a murder investigation after a woman was suspected to have been strangled by her father.
Officers received a report from a woman at around 6am that her daughter was attacked by her ex-husband, 70, inside a flat in Mong Kok.
The victim, 32, was found dead on a bed when officers arrived, the force said.
“Initial investigation revealed that the 70-year-old man strangled the deceased with hands. Police arrested the man for murder. He is being detained for enquiries,” the police said in a statement.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of the woman’s death.
