  • Petition condemns Junius Ho for 'siding with mobs'

Over a thousand teachers, students and alumni of Queen's College have put their names to a signature campaign condemning pro-government lawmaker Junius Ho – an alumnus of the school – accusing him of supporting gangs of men who attacked MTR passengers and bystanders in Yuen Long on Sunday night.

Hundreds of men, dressed in white t-shirts, were seen chasing and hitting people at random, leaving dozens injured, some seriously.

In videos circulating online, Ho can been seen applauding and giving men in the streets of Yuen Long the “thumbs up” and calling them "heroes".

On an RTHK programme on Monday, the lawmaker said it is normal for him to shake hands with people he meets while out and about, and he praised the people of Yuen Long for "safeguarding" their district.

The signature campaign condemns Ho for "siding with mobs" and describes his behaviour as "unethical" and "shameful".

The petition calls on Legco to impeach the legislator, and urges alumni to lodge formal complaints with the Law Society which Ho is a member of.

It also calls on the Queen's College Old Boys' Association to suspend Ho's membership.
