  • Parents arrested over death of baby girl

Police said on Saturday they had arrested a couple on suspicion of murdering their 14-month-old daughter.

They said the baby, who had suffered neck injuries, had been dead for between one and three days when officers found her body at a village house in Pat Heung on Friday night.

Gary Lam, assistant commander for Yuen Long district, said the cause of the baby's death was still to be ascertained.

He said officers rushed to the house after having been contacted by the father of the 32-year-old woman suspect, who said he'd been unable to get in touch with her.

The male suspect is aged 33.

Lam said they would look into the couple's relationship with their daughter and possible motives for the apparent murder.
