Health authorities on Monday reported three more locally acquired Covid-19 infections, all connected to a woman diagnosed at the weekend.
One of three new patients is a 27-year-old paramedic who took the woman to hospital on Saturday.
At a press briefing, Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre for Health Protection said the paramedic had performed some procedures on the woman, but he was only wearing a surgical mask at the time, and not an N95 respirator.
The man is the first paramedic in Hong Kong believed to have caught the virus at work.
The other two new patients are colleagues of the 34-year-old woman who is seriously ill.
They work at a Kerry Logistics warehouse in Kwai Chung and fell sick at the end of April.
The woman's husband had earlier been diagnosed with the virus as well.
Under Secretary for Health Chui Tak-yi said authorities are very concerned about the latest cluster of infections.
He reminded private doctors to test patients suffering from respiratory infections for the coronavirus even if their symptoms are mild.
