More than 900 preliminary positive coronavirus infections were found in a series of overnight lockdowns at housing blocks in Tsing Yi, Fo Tan, Yuen Long, Kai Tak and Kwun Tong.

Yiu Shing House of Tin Yiu Estate in Yuen Long saw the highest Covid-positive rate of around 15 percent.

Authorities said 223 out of 1,440 residents there were infected, and test results from 19 others came back “indeterminate”.

At Tak Loong House of Tak Long Estate in Kai Tak, 233 tested positive, while another 251 infections were identified at Wo Tai House of On Tai Estate in Kwun Tong. 

A separate overnight exercise at Block 11 of Mayfair Gardens in Tsing Yi found 50 cases.

Chun Yat House of Chun Yeung Estate in Fo Tan, meanwhile, saw 150 preliminary positive cases.
