The Airport Authority has warned that a planned city-wide strike on Monday may affect the airport's operations – with more than a hundred departing and arriving flights already cancelled.

The authority advises passengers to check with their airlines for the latest information, and only proceed to the airport when their seats and flight time have been confirmed.

The cancelled departing and arriving flights are mainly from local carriers, Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Airlines.

Cathay Pacific, on its website, said it “strongly recommend” customers postpone non-essential travel on August 5. It said re-booking and rerouting charges would be waived ,with immediate effect, for all tickets issued before August 5.
