The government said it has arranged for some residents of a public housing block in Sham Shui Po to be evacuated over concerns that the Covid-19 virus had been spreading through means like vertical or horizontal transmission.
In a statement issued Tuesday night, the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said residents of all units on the second floor of Fu Yuet House at Fu Cheong Estate will be sent to a quarantine centre.
Officials had announced earlier in the day that the block will be locked down for a second night of testing, after 22 preliminary positive infections were detected.
Meanwhile, the CHP said Qatar Airways will be banned from flying passenger flights from Doha to Hong Kong from today to February 21, after three passengers on flight QR818 tested positive after arriving in the SAR on Sunday.
