The Coroner's Court on Monday ruled that the death of student inside Ocean Park's haunted house attraction two years ago was accidental.
Cheung Chiu-kit, 21, was hit by a sliding coffin in the "Buried Alive" attraction which had been opened as part of the park's Halloween celebrations.
Coroner Monica Chow said Cheung had gone the wrong way inside the haunted house and even though staff had noticed him going into a restricted area, they mistook him for an employee and didn't stop him.
Ocean Park said it had already adopted a series of measures to avoid a repeat of the tragedy and the court did not offer any recommendations following the accident.
