The news department of Now TV said on Monday that one of its drivers was being treated in hospital for head and facial injuries after he was wounded by police and then detained in the early hours of the morning.
The driver was believed to have been shot in the back of the head with a beanbag round while walking to his car near Mong Kok Police Station.
Riot officers were carrying out a clearance operation at the time and the driver was subdued by a number of them despite informing them that he was working, the television station said.
A photographer was also said to have confirmed to the police that the man worked for the broadcaster.
The driver was taken into Mong Kok Station with his hands tied with cables.
Now TV said he was only released after two hours when the police called an ambulance to take him to Kwong Wah Hospital.
The driver suffered injuries to his head and chin and was still being treated in hospital, the broadcaster said.
