North Korea has once again expressed its support for the enactment of national security legislation in Hong Kong, according to the mainland's state-run Xinhua News Agency.

According to the agency, North Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ri Son-gwon, told the Chinese Ambassador to the country, Li Jinjun, that Pyongyang fully supports China’s decision to safeguard its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

This is the second time that the reclusive state has expressed support for the national security law to be implemented in the SAR.

Last month, a North Korean foreign ministry spokesperson said the One Country, Two Systems is being threatened, adding that no other countries should interfere in China’s internal affairs.

Apart from North Korea, Xinhua said several other countries have also voiced support for the national security law. They include Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Myanmar and the Philippines.
