The MTR says no one was injured when a false ceiling collapsed inside the Central station on Saturday evening.
The railway operator said the incident happened just before seven o'clock near platform three.
Pictures circulating online showed lumps of cement lying in front on an escalator, and a hole in the ceiling.
The MTR said it has now sealed off the area and will investigate what caused incident.
It said train services were not affected.
