Health authorities say there was no new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Hong Kong as of 4pm on Sunday, with the number of cases remaining at 1,065, with four fatalities.
There hasn’t been a locally-contracted case of the disease in ten days, as the city struggles to gradually return to normal after months of a partial lockdown.
However, a ban on public gatherings of over eight people remain in place – though hundreds ignored the regulation to take to the streets on Sunday to protest against Beijing’s plans to directly enact national security laws here without going through Legco.
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) urged members of the public to “maintain an appropriate social distance with other people as far as possible in their daily lives to minimise the risk of infection.”
