Health authorities on Wednesday said no cases had been found at two overnight Covid testing lockdowns in North Point and Tuen Mun.

The cases involves a 48-year-old man, who works at CITIC Securities in North Point and last went to work on January 5. He is a close contact of another man from North Point, who had previously contracted the coronavirus. Authorities tested 75 people in the block.

About a hour later, health authorities also sealed off Block 3 of Po Tin Estate on Ming Kum Road, Tuen Mun, where a 51-year-old female Penny's Bay security guard lives. She has tested preliminary positive, involving a mutant strain. Authorities tested 1,249 residents. The lockdown was lifted at 7 am.

The Centre for Health Protection on Tuesday reported 21 Covid cases, eight of them local infections linked to past cases. They include a man connected to a pharmacy in the H.A.N.D.S shopping mall in Tuen Mun. Two of his relatives were preliminary positive.
