New Covid Infections In Hong Kong Fall To 3,709

The number of new Covid-19 infections continues to fall in Hong Kong, with authorities reporting 3,709 new cases on Sunday - 766 fewer than the previous day.
Among the new cases, 1,832 infections were confirmed by laboratories while 1,877 were reported by people who administered rapid tests themselves.
The Hospital Authority, meanwhile, reported 111 deaths, including 96 people who passed away in the past day.
Sara Ho, a general manager from the authority, said the patients were aged between 38 and 109.
She said some of the younger patients had suffered from cancer or other chronic illnesses.
Ho said one of the deceased was a man, 56, who had received three doses of Covid vaccine. She said the patient had a brain tumour and also suffered from diabetes.
The fatality rate in the fifth wave of Covid infections now stands at 0.69 percent.
There were also 10 imported cases.
