The Legco Secretariat has apologised for an incident on Thursday morning where the national flag at Legco Square was flown upside down by mistake for almost two hours.

The secretariat said it put the flag up the right way again at 9.54am.

It said it will follow up on the matter seriously, in accordance with its internal human resources mechanism.

It also said it has already reviewed and improved flag-raising procedures to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

There is a daily flag-raising ceremony for the SAR and national flags outside the Legco Complex.
