The MTR network will operate as normal on Monday, despite the early closure of several lines on Sunday amid increasingly chaotic protests.

However services will once again finish at 10pm to allow more time for repair work, and several light rail stops remain out of action.

Anti-government protesters took action across the SAR on Sunday, with MTR services again targetted for vandalism amid accusations that the rail operator is colluding with the government and police.

The MTR said protesters threw objects onto the East Rail Line tracks at Sha Tin on Sunday afternoon, endangering services. A petrol bomb was thrown at an entrance to Wong Tai Sin Station and a fire started at Mong Kok.

All services on the Tsuen Wan, Tseung Kwan O, Ma On Shan and Kwun Tong lines stopped early.
