MTR Corporation said on Saturday night it was still assessing the safety conditions and did not to say when the services will resume.
All services by the rail operator, except Airport Express, remained shut on Saturday.
The MTR said that several its stations had suffered serious damage in Friday night violence and they are working hard to repair it.
After conducting a risk assessment with the police and relevant government departments, the Airport Express train service resumed at 2:30pm.
But trains will ply only between Hong Kong and airport every ten minutes and the Kowloon Station, Tsing Yi Station and the AsiaWorld-Expo will remain closed.
