The MTR on Thursday said its services were running normally again. The rail operator made the announcement after it closed Sha Tin Station on Wednesday evening after protesters vandalised facilities and surrounded the control station.

The protesters alleged MTR staff had earlier roughly treated a young man who had jumped a ticket barrier.

A large group of police then arrived and arrested a number of protesters.
