Police on Thursday announced the arrests of two more people in connection with an attack on an employee at a McDonald's restaurant in Tuen Mun earlier this week, a day after a 27-year-old man said to have driven the alleged assailant from the scene was arrested.

Chief inspector Mo Siu-hei told reporters the suspected attacker was among those arrested, as was the registered owner of the alleged getaway vehicle. The arrestees are aged between 25 and 27.

Mo said the suspected attacker remains in police custody for further investigations, and the other two have been released on bail.

He said officers believe they have arrested all suspects involved in the incident, and reminded people to be mindful of public health amid the Covid-19 epidemic

A video of the alleged assault, which is said to have started when the worker asked a customer to wear a mask, has circulated widely online.
