  • Migrant workers demand equal treatment and pay

Socialist Action's Pasha Wan

Dozens of people have staged a protest outside government headquarters to complain about differential treatment for migrant workers and refugees in Hong Kong.

They called for a minimum wage of HK$50 per hour for all workers. The protesters said they also want the government to ban overcharging by employment agencies, and to allow refugees to look for work.

One of the organisers, Pasha Wan from the group Socialist Action, says migrant workers are being discriminated against under current rules.
