A 27-year-old man accused of attacking people with a knife in Kwun Tong on Friday has been remanded to the Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre pending mental health reports.
Kwong Sing-yu appeared at the Kwun Tong magistrates' courts on Monday to face charges of wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of a class one poison.
The defendant, identified as an estate agent, got into an argument over politics. Two tablets, described as Viagra, were also found on him, the prosecution said.
Two men, a 40-year-old and a 21-year-old sustained stab injuries in the incident which happened as the city witnessed several events to mark the anniversary of a mass anti-government protest on June 12 last year.
The hearing has been adjourned to June 29.
