An 83-year-old man has died after allegedly being hit by a light goods vehicle in Hung Hom, as he and an 85-year-old woman were crossing the road on Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened on Pau Chung Street as the vehicle was approaching Sheung Heung Road.

The man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he died early on Sunday morning. The woman was also injured.

Police had arrested the driver, a 52-year-old man, for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on bail.
