Police on Friday said they had arrested a 59-year-old man for allegedly inciting others to inflict grievous bodily harm upon others.
Investigators said they had made the arrest after probing social media posts which encouraged people to kill police.
The man was detained in Tai Po on Friday morning.
Officers said they had also seized a cell phone.
The force also reminded the public that the online publication of material inciting violence is banned under an interim court injunction issued in 2019.
